Provide digital access for all students.
About the 2020 Tech Levy
Vote YES for Proposition 1 on your November 3 ballot!
Technology opens doors for students—to today’s learning and tomorrow’s careers. All Highline students deserve access to technology for education. When the pandemic hit, the gap in access to equitable education widened. This levy helps close that gap.
Your “Yes” vote will:
Ensure that all students have digital devices and internet access for learning at school and at home;
Replace aging computers for students and teachers;
Update cybersecurity to protect confidential student and district data;
Help students achieve digital and media literacy;
Provide training to help teachers personalize student learning using digital tools; and
Fund classroom technology that helps teachers to deliver instruction at school or during distance learning
This two-year, $32.5 million technology levy will not increase your tax rate, thanks to expiring school bonds and levies. If approved, tax rates will decrease by 12 cents per $1000 assessed property value in 2021.
As a community, we cannot allow our children to be left behind because of family income or access to resources. Ensure students and staff have the technology and support they need during the pandemic and beyond. Our whole community benefits when schools are strong.
